Brand StatementFor a tomorrow different from today~Toward a smiling body and heart~My name is Masakazu Oi. I am the president of P.O.LABO. CO., LTD., founded on September 22nd, 2005 as the first prosthetics and orthotics company in Kyotanabe.The "P" in "P.O.LABO" stands for "prosthetics," such as artificial arms or legs; the "O" stands for "orthotics," meaning things like corsets and insoles; and the "LABO" is short for "laboratory." I named the company this not just because we would only make prosthetics and orthotics, but with the idea in mind that we would research and develop prosthetics and orthotics with new kinds of value, and be able to bring them into the world.From that idea, we have been able to develop four new products.1. Long Leg brace(KAFO) for rehabilitation for patients with hemiplegia at an early stage after a stroke, "Front"2. Quick-fitting back braces for patients with spinal compression fractures, "F-Hold" 3. Socks that can be easily fitted with insoles when you go indoors, "POcks" 4. Simple insoles for treating medial compartment osteoarthritis of the knee, "Sportif Late"We discover trouble spots in medical care through our relationship with caregivers. I believe we can develop solutions using the latest equipment with the help of engineers who have the technological know-how, including our head of manufacturing. We have the tools to deal with these issues, with our entire staff and our characteristic teamwork, everyone working together as one. Also, we collaborate with 19 companies of all sorts, from textile makers, to tool and die makers, to foam manufacturers, to metalworkers. Not only can we meet many different needs; we even have the technological capacity to build the frameworks needed for mass production.Additionally, we have been able to obtain a variety of certifications. 1. Kyoto Prefecture "Wise Management" certification (a first for a prosthetics and orthotics company). First certification: January 13th, 2010. Second certification: March 28th, 2014. 2. "Kyoto Prefecture Genki-jirushi Medium-Small Business" Certificate. August 25th, 2014. 3. "Business Improvement Plan" approval. August 25th, 2014.
